Reach Out I'll Be There
(Originally by The Four Tops)
Now if you feel that you can't go on
Because all of your hope is gone
And your life is filled with much confusion
Until happiness is just an illusion
And your world around is crumblin' down
Darling--Reach out--Reach out--Reach out for Me.
I'll be there with a love that will shelter you,
I'll be there with a love that will see you through.
When you feel lost and about to give up
Cause your best just ain't good enough
And you feel the world has grown cold
And you’re stepping out all on your own
And you need a hand to hold
Darling--Reach out--Reach out for Me.
I'll be there to love and comfort you,
I'll be there to cherish and care for you;
I'll be there to always see you through,
I'll be there to love and comfort you.
I can tell the way you hang your head
You're alone now, now you're afraid,
And through your tears you look around
But there's no peace of mind to be found
(I know what you're thinking--)
You're alone, no lover of your own
But Darling--Reach out--Reach out.
I'll be there to give you all the love you need,
I'll be there you can always depend on Me.
One morning as I was walking my normal neighborhood circuit I began thinking about how Jesus taught by telling stories. So I asked Him to tell me a story. What came to me was the story of my life and I went along with it, remembering. At one point this song came to mind and, although I didn’t know all the lyrics, I enjoyed singing it and absorbing the message of it. After a while I said, "Jesus, what’s with this song? I thought You were telling me a story." His reply into my spirit was, "It’s a musical." I burst out laughing and to this day the thought of it brings a smile to my face and to my heart.
